Description Pattern: Thousand Triangles, or Two-Patch

Fabrics: Multi-printed fabrics, with some brown showing disintergration. Purple, brown, yellow, indigo, Lancaster Blue, Hershey Brown, madders, bronze

Backing: Solid Brown poly/cotton

Size Blocks: Squares finish 2 1/8"

Set: 40 squares by 40 squars of half square triangles, all set same direction

Border: No border

Binding: Back to front 1/4" wide

Technique: Hand-pieced and hand-quilted

Batting: Flannel sheet

Quilting: Outline quilted in white thread, 5/6 SPI. Quilted after 1960.
Date 1850 ca.
Provenance Made by Ellen Boughner Smith, born 1827, died 1905. Wife of Mahlon Smith who lived on Kuhl Farm Road, Raritan Township.
