Pattern Name: Odd Fellows
Fabrics: A charm quilt with no two pieces alike. Overall the feeling is brown and pink. In the center is part of a flag with 3 white stars on blue. Many madder prints and double pinks. There are at least 480 different fabrics.
Backing: Two stripes, one blue and tan, one red and black
Set: Triang'es pieced in 15 columns of 32 light and dark whole triangles
Batting: Presumed cotton
Quilting: By the piece with another triangle in each triangle.
|Provenance||Made in Hunterdon County by Mary DeMott Sheets, wife of William H. Sheets, for her granddaughter Lillie Sheets, daughter of William Sheets and Mary Emmans. Lillie brought it west to Iowa when the family moved in 1884. They family stayed in Iowa, except for 7 years when they lived near Kearbey, Nebraska. When Lillie died in 1956 near Oskaloosa, Iowa, it when to her niece Catherine Sheets, who donated it to HCHS.|
