Scope & Content Abstract: This collection is primarily made up of legal documents pertaining to property owned by O. Judson and Mary Louise Force in Readington Twp., Hunterdon Co., N.J. The collection also includes the 1938 Farm Account Book of O. Judson Force; teaching course registrations and teaching diplomas for Mary Louise Waite Force; and voter registration cards for O. Judson and Mary Louise Force.

Scope and Content: This collection consists of 29 folders in two series: legal documents of O. Judson and Mary Louise Force; course registrations and teaching certification for Mary Louise Waite as well as the voter registrations cards for both O. Judson Force and Mary Louise Force; and the 1938 Farm Account Book for O. Judson Force.

The first series is primarily made up of real estate documents pertaining to property owned by O. Judson in Readington Township. Documents include sales agreements, deeds, mortgages, mortgage releases and title abstracts. Documents pertaining to previous owner's of property (including relatives of O. Judson Force) subsequently owned by O. Judson Force are also part of this collection. The folders containing real estate documents are arranged by property and then by year for each discrete property followed by other real estate documents arranged chronologically and then by other types of documents including a Readington Tax Map, Record of Mortgage Payments, Notice to O. Judson Force of Heir to Will of Maude S.W. McKay; and Statement of Financial Ability to support mother, Lizzie Force.

The second series consists of course registrations and teaching certifications for Mary Louise Waite (wife of O. Judson Force) at State Teacher's College and Rutgers University of New Jersey; voter registration cards for O. Judson Force and Mary Louise Force dated 1943; and a farm account book belonging to O. Judson Force, dated 1938.

Admin/Biographical History O. Judson Force (ca. 1901-1982) was the son of Oscar J. Force and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kline Force and the husband of Mary Louise Waite Force. O. Judson Force inherited the Homestead Farm in Readington Twp. from his grandmother, Harriet "Hattie" Cole Force upon her death in 1942. His mother, Elizabeth Force was listed as a co-owner of the properties owned by O. Judson and Mary Louise Forc until her death in 1975
His sister, Eloise Force Schomp inherited a house and lot from Harriet Cole Force. This collection was donated by Jay Force, possibly Oscar Judson Force, 3rd, the son of O. Judson and Mary Louis Waite Force.
